Dark Light

I’ve always been a significant supporter of video games. I think they are a great way of
spending (wasting, according to some insolent fools) your time and they can help you learn a lot. For example, the names of all kinds of weapons, etc. But jokes apart, did you know that playing video games has some health advantages? Don’t gasp! Stay tuned, and I’ll tell you many ways in which video games make us a healthier individual. I’m sure you’ll enjoy this compilation and beware; you might develop an inclination towards video games once you are done reading this post.

1. Better Cognitive Functioning

I’m sure you saw this one coming. I hope you know by now that are cognitive skills can be enhanced by actually practising them. For the most part, our brain works better if we use it. Playing 3-D games can help us improve these cognitive skills. These games can help you become a more attentive and focused person, and you would be able to perform better and faster.

2. It Can Help Treat Depression

A lot of people are stressed these days. People get upset because of their work, families, etc. and they often fall prey to escape mechanisms that don’t serve as quite well.
Playing video games, on the contrary, can prove quite helpful for you. It can help you stay away from alcohol and smoking etc. It can also provide you with a sense of achievement and inspire you to do more with your life as you generally become a happier person.

3. It Can Improve Your Memory

Did you know that playing games can improve your memory quite effectively? I recently read a study that explained how individuals who played video games had a hippocampus (a part of your brain that stores information) that was 12% more developed than regular people! So if you believe that video games are a waste of your time then let me change your perception. Video games are really good for both – short-term & long-term memory.

4. Make New Friends!

Ever tried guessing what hinders introverts from making more friends? Being an introvert doesn’t mean that you have to be lonely! Games are a great way of communicating with people and getting to know them. In fact, I have forged the strongest bonds of friendship with some of my besties I found online through video games. If you are not very good at making new friends, you should probably try playing MMO games; I’m sure you’ll end up finding someone just like yourself!

5. Improves Your Reflexes & Responses

Another way games can really help you is by developing your reflexes. They enable you to think fast and think on your feet. They make you take decisions on a moment’s notice and respond promptly & fiercely. And it is absolutely fantastic for improving your hand-eye coordination.

Do you need any more convincing? If you don’t know what games you should play, to begin with, click here! And have a good week!
