To say that Fallout 76 was a critical and commercial disaster is an understatement. From a messy beta to the collector’s edition controversy, Fallout 76 didn’t have it easy. One of the biggest criticisms aimed at Bethesda’s ‘semi MMO’ was its lack of non-playable characters. The Fallout series is known for its wild and bizarre roster of side characters. So, taking out this aspect and telling the story through holodisks and computer terminals didn’t do the already flawed game any favors. To rectify this mistake, Wastelanders brings a brand-new main questline, new locations, new enemies, new weapons, a new reputation system and much more.

Fallout 76 owners will be able to experience the Wastelanders expansion for free on April 14 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (Bethesda Launcher/STEAM).

PC players who already own the game on Beth launcher will get free access to the STEAM version once it goes live. Do note that if you already have Fallout 76 on Bethesda.net, you will not be able to transfer your Atoms or Fallout 1st membership balance between Bethesda.net and Steam. Additionally, Atoms you earn are specific to one or the other platform. However, items you have purchased through the Atomic Shop will be shared across both platforms – Bethesda.net and Steam.

From April 14 through April 28, if you buy Fallout 76 on Steam, you will receive the Fallout Classic Collection – a bundle that includes Fallout 1, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics – for free.
