Rockstar Newswire has confirmed a massive update for Red Dead Online – a new role, an outlaw pass, and tonnes of community requested features and fixes. Along with this, new content for Grand Theft Auto Online is also on the horizon – taking heists to new locations and a summer update.

Red Dead Online update

The update for Red Dead Online has been confirmed to drop on July 28. According to Rockstar Newswire  the upcoming update will feature “a new Frontier Pursuit that will introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all-new Role, plus a new Outlaw Pass, tons of community-requested features and fixes, and much more to play and discover in the months to come“. Musical Instruments will also be added to the game as a part of the community requests. Later this year more extensions and augmentations will be added to the current existing roles in the game.

GTA Online Update

For GTA Online, a Summer Update will be patched to the game which will include new and diverse content from the game’s existing features. New vehicles, missions, and maybe narratives might arrive in GTA Online’s missions. Later this year, GTA Online will receive its biggest update yet which will include a new heist at a new location.

This update comes after the uptick in the number of players in both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. The increase in the numbers is of course, because of the pandemic forcing a lot of people to stay at home and Epic Game Store’s free giveaway of Grand Theft Auto V. A big reason for the update can be attributed to the infamously dubbed ‘clown protest’ in Red Dead Online, where players equipped clown attire because they had not received any new content and update for the game in a long time. After the announcement of the update, this protest has been called off.

Along with the announcement of the new updates, Rockstar has also taken a strict stand against hackers, modders, and griefers. Rockstar has reportedly banned over hundreds and thousands of cheaters and vouches to continue doing so. They have also provided links to report any sort of cheating for both GTA Online and Red Dead Online respectively.
