Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt has been the talk of the gaming community of late. This F2P game had launched in the last week of April and instantly became a big hit. If you visit Twitch or YouTube, you’d probably be seeing a lot of top-shot streamers and FPS professionals playing the game. The game plays along the lines of Apex Legends, focusing on class-based gameplay. Each class has particular powers which can be used by them during battle. Vampire: The Masquerade is definitely not the IP that comes into mind when one talks about battle royales, so the game still has some balancing issues. Based on our experiences in the game, we tried to rate the clans to the best of our ability. The list follows –

Clan Nosferatu has the best escape mechanism among all clans in Vampire : the Masquerade Bloodhunt.

1. Nosferatu – Clan Nosferatu was one of the most unique clans in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, and they have somewhat of a similar reputation in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt as well. Having horribly disfigured and frightening appearance, the Nosferatu clan has special powers that allow them to make the most out of every environment that they are fighting in. The clan’s special power allows one to call a disintegrate into a flurry of bats to fly away from combat to reassemble somewhere else. Taking fights and managing to run away at the run time can be quite the superpower especially when one needs to heal or armor up for keeping up the fight. Players can also use it aggressively to catch up with enemies trying to evade combat. The Nosferatu clan has access to the Prowler class, possibly the most broken class in the game (after the Muse). The Prowler can reveal enemy locations by dispatching a swarm of bats to a suspected location to check whether it contains enemies or not. Its brother, the Saboteur, also has the power of turning invisible when it’s crouched – something which is abused aggressively by most Saboteur players in the game (especially in the last few zones where one has to contest territory with fellow vampires). The Saboteur is definitely the pick if one opts to support their team with some firepower – the traps they lay out damage any enemies who are in range of it. Moreover, the traps are invisible to enemies, being quite the surprise when someone steps on them. If being in a supporting role in combat is more of your thing, Clan Nosferatu definitely the way to go.

Clan Ventrue from Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodhunt are best suited for frontline combat with enemies.

2. Ventrue – If showing off class while engaging other vampires in combat is a thing, then no one shines better than Clan Ventrue. Being from the wealthiest section of humans when alive, it seems that they had managed to carry over their wealth into the afterlife. Clan Ventrue prefers to fight others up close rather than escape, naturally, they do not have any escape mechanism like the other classes. Instead, their clan power allows them to develop stone skin (like that of a gargoyle) which prevents all sorts of damage for a few seconds before it wears off. This might seem underwhelming, but it is one of the more broken clan powers in the game. The stone skin allows them to come close to their enemy and land a few shots on them before they can even be damaged – forcing enemies to either flee or reposition themselves for the fight. Currently, the Ventrue clan has access to only one class called the Enforcer, who can “silence” rival vampires with a powerful bash to their faces. An enemy hit by this bash has all of their abilities disabled for a few seconds, forcing them to take a fight with the Enforcer where they are at a disadvantage. The only reason the Ventrue clan is not at the highest position in the list is that it is highly dependent on the aim of the player and how they can take down the enemies. Only the ones who can take fights early on and can take down enemies quickly should go with the Enforcer.

Clan Toreador provides the best support classes in Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodhunt.

3. Toreador – Wishing to get to mingle with high society and dabble in things like art? You should definitely go with Clan Toreador. Members of this clan combine finesse with a modicum of violence for the art called domination. One can feel nothing but sorrow for the poor victims charmed by this clan for their personal motives. The Toreador clan is definitely one that can regain health the quickest among all other clans, giving them a decisive advantage in the midst of a game. Clan Toreador also has a teleport that lets one evade enemy bullets quickly, or simply to get in or out of a firefight. The Muse is perhaps one of the second most broken classes in the game (after the Prowler, that is) as she is capable of healing herself and her squad mates. The Muse can also use her vampiric powers when she is knocked down, often allowing her to escape sticky situations and live to fight another day. If that isn’t enough, she is also revived faster than other vampires when knocked down! Her partner, the Siren, plays in a more subtle manner. The Siren’s aura charms all mortals in a certain range, allowing her squad mates to feed off their blood freely without consequences. The Siren also feeds relatively fast, allowing her to regain health quicker. In combat, the Siren can blind enemies targeting her so badly that they are forced to fall off and choose another target or get out of combat completely. The flash has a direction of its own, so that’s something to be careful about while using it in a fight. Despite having such immense powers, Clan Toreador is knocked down to the third position on the list because their powers were designed with support in mind rather than offense (the game would be unbalanced if a Muse can heal on the go and shoot enemies while doing it, or if a Siren can blind an enemy while shooting).

Clan Brujah from Vampire : the Masquerade Bloodhunt specializes in close range combat.

4. Brujah – Perhaps the only clan in the game that makes people go “Why is this even in the game?” Clan Brujah are the bruisers and the main muscle for the vampires in the afterlife. Trained well for combat, Clan Brujah is well equipped with offensive abilities to knock the wits out of anyone trying to challenge them. The big issue with the design of this clan is that the escape mechanism offered is quite underwhelming. Just being able to jump into the sky would definitely not be enough to thwart enemies shooting at you (unlike Clan Toreador or Clan Nosferatu who can vanish from a place and materialize somewhere else). The two classes for Clan Brujah, Brute and Vandal, are also quite weak as classes. The Brute is capable of healing up to half of their normal health while out of combat, while the Vandal has increased damage resistance in combat. Passive powers aside, Clan Brujah has no real skill that it specializes in. Being focused on attacking other vampires for survival, requires quite the skill to master Clan Brujah’s vampires – they are definitely not worth it for someone starting out in the game (or with battle royale in general). Being aggro-focused also means that only trigger-happy players can take some advantage of them. For others, it’s way better to go with one of the other clans.

And there you have it! All the classes in Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodhunt have been ranked from the best to the worst. The most likely combination of vampires trios will go to the Prowler, the Muse, and the Enforcer. The ratings offered by this article are based on our experiences in the game and may be subject to the mercy of upcoming patches.
